The Kast Off Kinks at The Hub, Tooting & Mitcham FC

Well, another of the Kast Off Kinks fine performances! The Hub at Tooting and Mitcham’s Football ground now being added as yet another venue on the Pete Feenstra map of music.

For me and a couple of my friends, this gig was eagerly awaited and admittedly having only seen the KastOffs earlier in the year I too was more than eager to see them perform. Well they lived up to expectations and performed to perfection. All the timeless classics were there "Lola", "Victoria", "Waterloo Sunset", the names go on - not to mention the 40th anniversary of "Shangri-La"!

The Kinks are iconic and with such a rich catalogue of hits spanning several decades it is worth every penny to see them perform. It is an added bonus the accompanying stories told by the band as to the origin of some of the music and lyrics - it’s all quite fantastic and always brings smiles to everyone’s faces.

My only slight disappointment was that being a new venue the event was not as well attended as some of their other gigs, but I am sure when they return to the BoomBoom in Sutton it will be a different story! If you’re a fan of Kinks music this is a gig you cannot afford to miss. I for one will be there and try to promote them to our local scooter club the "Cheam Cheetahs", 2 members of which are also firm converts after Saturdays performance.

A big thank you to The Kast Off Kinks and Pete Feenstra for providing and promoting such quality gigs!
